The Safe e-candle was born out of a desire to make the ageless romantic beauty of candlelight safe and simple to use for the new millennium. Candles have been used to light darkness and for romantic charm almost since the beginning of time. Wax candles haven’t been the safest or most efficient means of light, yet they still remain as a link to our past history even with the advent of the electric light. More than ever, candles are used to set a romantic mood and present a calm and peaceful setting for the young and old alike.

Now with the patented Safe e-candle, you can enjoy the ambience of candlelight and not have to interrupt your romantic moment or your peaceful state of mind to get up and blow out your candle. The Safe e-candle is the world’s first candle to use a remote control to extinguish the flame and if you forget, or become preoccupied, Safe e-candle will automatically extinguish the flame at a preset time of 1 to 4 hours. Now you can have peace of mind knowing that if you forget, Safe e-candle will extinguish its self.

As with any open flame, never leave candles unattended. Safe e-candle is not a toy and should be used in accordance with the manufacturers instructions by responsible adults.

SAFE E-CANDLE USER INSTRUCTIONS

Safe e-candle is designed to extinguish the-candle flame safely and conveniently. Never leave Safe e-candle unattended.

Insert 6 x AA (R6) size 1.5V alkaline batteries in Safe e-candle and 1 x CN23A (VR22 or EL12) size 12V alkaline battery in the infrared remote transmitter. Safe e-candle electronics will automatically enter the battery saving sleep (Off) condition.

Set the-candle flame extinguish delay time switch on the bottom of Safe e-candle to 1, 2, 3 or 4 hours as preferred. Changes to the delay switch only become effective by first turning Safe-candle off. Place Safe-candle on a level and stable surface away from air drafts and inflammable materials such as curtains.

Fill the-candle jar with clear 99.9% Pure Paraffin candle oil using the folding plastic funnel provided; insert the wick holder assembly into the top of the jar and place the jar in the recess on Safe e-candle. Adjust the height of the glass top of the wick holder to be level with the blower outlet slot on Safe e-candle by sliding the rubber ring up or down the shaft of the wick holder.

Adjust the height of the wick level with the top of the wick holder. Varying this height will change the height of the flame. Make sure the lower end of the wick is in the oil and wait 1 hour for the oil to seep up to the top of the wick before lighting the flame for the first time. NEVER attempt to adjust the wick just after blowing out the flame. The glass wick holder will be hot. WAIT UNTIL GLASS WICK HOLDER IS COOL BEFORE ADJUSTING THE WICK.

Light the-candle. Safe e-candle electronics will detect the flame and automatically switch from sleep (Off) to wake (On) condition within 5 minutes after lighting the-candle. A short single beep tone will sound.

Safe e-candle can be switched from the sleep to the wake condition by pressing the “Reset” button once on the right side of the unit. A short single beep tone will sound. If the flame is not lit Safe e-candle will automatically return to the sleep condition within 2 minutes. Safe e-candle electronics will automatically activate the blower to extinguish the flame at the preset delay time if no further action is taken.

Safe e-candle can be activated and the flame extinguished by either pressing the “Reset” button on the right side of the base or by pointing the infrared remote to the sensor on the left side of the base and pressing the “Off" button on the remote. Either way Safe-candle will emit a short single beep tone. The infrared remote transmitter will work at a range of up to 3 meters from Safe-candle. 5 minutes after the flame has been extinguished Safe-candle will automatically revert to the sleep condition to save battery power. It is not necessary to switch Safe-candle off or to remove the batteries. Only remove batteries from Safe e-candle and the remote if they are to be left unused for longer than 3 weeks at a time. This will protect against battery leakage.

In the unlikely event the flame is not extinguished by the blower the first time, Safe e-candle will detect that the flame is still lit and automatically activate the blower 3 minutes later.  This will be repeated again in the event the flame remains lit. If the flame continues to remain lit 3 minutes after the third blow, Safe e-candle will emit a continuous beep tone to alert the user that a problem has occurred with the automatic flame extinguishing system. It will then be necessary to extinguish the flame manually. To immediately stop the alarm tone, press the Reset button on Safe e-candle or the “off” button on the remote, otherwise Safe-candle will automatically stop the alarm 5 minutes after the flame has been extinguished.  

In the event the Safe e-candle should overheat, for example due to incorrect adjustment of the flame or an air draught blowing the flame onto the sensor, the unit will automatically extinguish the flame.

While Safe e-candle is in the wake (On) condition the electronic circuit will monitor Safe e-candle's battery condition and sound a single beep every 20 seconds if the battery level is low and the batteries need replacing. To replace the batteries, remove the-candle from the base of Safe e-candle, replace the batteries and return the-candle to the base.

Replace the infrared remote control unit battery when the activating distance becomes unacceptably reduced.

To Clean Safe e-candle, wipe with a damp cloth using only water. DO NOT use chemical or other cleaners as these may damage the surface
